Australians missing in Taiwan after earthquake

Hualien, Taiwan: Two Australians are reportedly still missing in Taiwan two days after the worst earthquake in 25 years hit the island nation.

Hundreds of aftershocks shook eastern Taiwan, prompting dozens of people to seek shelter outdoors, as the death toll from Wednesday’s 7.2 magnitude earthquake rose to 10, with the number of injured at 1,099. authorities said.

Taiwan’s Foreign Ministry said four foreigners remained missing: two Australians, a Canadian and an Indian.

DFAT and Taiwan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs have been contacted for comment.
