Minister of Labor: Starting from April 9 to 14, private sector workers have a holiday on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr

Minister of Labor Hassan Shehata said that from Tuesday, April 9, until Sunday, April 14, this is an official paid holiday; On the occasion of Eid Al-Fitr, for workers in the private sector who are subject to the provisions of Labor Law No. 12 of 2003.

 

The minister added in a statement today, Thursday, that Sunday, April 14, will be calculated from the annual leave balance of the worker in the private sector, in light of the text of Prime Minister’s Resolution No. 1112 of 2024 issued yesterday, Wednesday.

 

He explained that the Prime Minister’s decision stipulated in its first article that the period from Tuesday, April 9, until Sunday, April 14, be an official paid holiday for employees of ministries, government departments, public bodies, local administration units, public sector companies, and public business sector companies. On the occasion of Eid al-Fitr.

 

This comes within the framework of ensuring the unification of official vacation dates for all employees in the various sectors of the state whenever possible. In order to achieve the social and national goal of official holidays and occasions and to share the celebration with family and friends.

 

The Ministry of Labor distributed a circular to the labor directorates in the governorates to follow up on the application of the leave in private sector companies, and the Minister congratulated the people of Egypt and the Arab and Islamic nations. On the occasion of Eid al-Fitr, we pray to God to make it a good holiday for our dear homeland, and that God protect Egypt, and return this occasion with goodness and blessings.
