"Etihad Airways" Launches its latest destination to Al-Qassim in Saudi Arabia

Abu Dhabi, 5 April / WAM / Etihad Airways announced today the addition of the Gassim region in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to its growing list of destinations, bringing the number of its destinations to the Kingdom to four, in a move aimed at expanding its network and enhancing connecting flights in the Middle East region.

The airline is set to expand its presence by launching flights to one of the most attractive regions in Saudi Arabia. Starting June 15, 2024, Etihad Airways will connect Zayed International Airport in Abu Dhabi directly with Prince Nayef bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Qassim with four weekly seasonal flights.

Eric Dee, Chief Revenue and Commercial Officer at Etihad Airways, said: “The launch of the new service to Gassim this year is not only about introducing a new destination, but it is also a celebration of 20 years of connecting the Emirati capital, Abu Dhabi, to the rich culture and diverse economic opportunities that the Kingdom offers.” Saudi Arab”.

As of June 15, Etihad Airways will begin increasing the number of its flights to a number of major destinations and launching its new flights to Antalya and Jaipur, which were announced last February.

Weekly flights to Thiruvananthapuram, Amman and Cairo will be increased by three flights, bringing their total to 10, 14 and 24 flights respectively, while the number of flights to Karachi will reach 17 weekly flights and 20 to Colombo.

The recent expansion contributes to a 33 percent increase in Etihad Airways’ total weekly flights, rising from 642 last summer to 855 in 2024, and increasing the number of destinations from 65 to 76 destinations.
