The oldest man on Earth says there is no secret to longevity

The oldest male person on Earth was Englishman John Tinniswood. He is 111 years old. April 4 his record fixed in the Guinness book. Previously, the record holder for life expectancy among men was held by Venezuelan citizen Juan Vicente Perez Mora, who died on April 2 at the age of 114.

When asked by journalists about the secret of his longevity, Tinniswood answersthat he was just lucky. “You may or may not live a long time – there’s nothing you can do to influence that,” Tinniswood said. He said that he never followed any diet or adhered to any special lifestyle. His favorite dish is the traditional English fried fish and chips, which his family cooked on Fridays, he is a fan of Liverpool Football Club, does not smoke and believes that his life has never been different from the average.

Tinniswood was born in 2012 in Liverpool and has since lived in northern England. He worked as an accountant and retired in 1972, more than 50 years ago. He lived with his wife Blodwen for 44 years; she died in 1986. The couple raised a daughter, and Tinniswood now has grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In his old age, due to health reasons, he moved to live in a nursing home.

When reporters asked Tinniswood to describe how he thought the world had changed during his lifetime, he replied: “The world is changing all the time. It’s an ongoing life experience. The world is getting a little better, but just a little. But it’s changing in the right way.”
