Andrew Scott On ‘Fleabag’ Fans Still Watching Show 5 Years Later: “Do Something Better With Your Life”

Andrew Scott, the hot priest on Fleabagis showcasing his sense of humor and joked about fans who are still watching the series five years later.

The actor joined Season 2 of the comedy series, becoming Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s Fleabag’s love interest. Ahead of the fifth anniversary since the series finale, Scott has a thing to say to those who have continued to obsess over his character and the show.

“Go out and get some fresh air,” Scott told EWlaughing. “Stop watching. Stop crying. Stop crying in your room with your curtains closed. Do something better with your life. It’s a great show, we all love it, but come on now, pull yourself together. Open the curtains and go outside.”

Fleabag was a BBC Three co-production with Amazon Studios that ran for two seasons and had a total of 12 episodes. The series created and written by Waller-Bridge was based on a one-woman show she first performed at the 2013 Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

Waller-Bridge is called Fleabag on the show, and the character’s name is never mentioned. The series follows the titular character as she navigates life in London as a single, free-spirited, and confused person.

Fleabag also starred Sian Clifford, Olivia Colman, Bill Paterson, Brett Gelman, Hugh Skinner, Hugh Dennis, Ben Aldridge and Jenni Richardson. The series started July 21, 2016, and aired its last episode on April 8, 2019.

Waller-Bridge won an Emmy in 2019 for the show in the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series and Fleabag won Outstanding Comedy Series that same year.
