He stated that this noticeable increase in the number of visitors confirms the strength and diversity of the Dubai World Trade Center’s events agenda, which included 107 exhibitions and conferences for international associations and many vital sectors, pointing out that these events together attracted 1.56 million participants, achieving a significant increase of 33% compared to the previous year. More than 722,000 international participants participated in these events, achieving an unprecedented growth of 60% on an annual basis.

Julfar said: “The events and exhibitions organized by the Dubai World Trade Center in 2023 achieved new achievements, as we organized 20 exhibitions and events that attracted 519,000 visitors, an increase of 42% on an annual basis, while the number of international participants reached 265,000 participants, recording a significant jump by 108% on an annual basis, and the events organized by the Dubai World Trade Center attracted more than 17,000 exhibiting companies, a significant increase of 45%, including 13,000 international exhibiting companies, a significant increase of 68%.

He explained that the major events organized by the center, including the “GITEX Global Exhibition” and the “Gulfood Exhibition,” have consolidated its global position and witnessed a remarkable growth in the number of visitors by 44% and 31%, respectively, while the “GITEX Global Exhibition” received 245,000 participants and hosted more than 7,200 companies exhibited, reflecting its growing popularity. The activities of this exhibition also expanded to be organized in new places in the Emirate of Dubai. These events included the “Expand North Star” exhibition, which was organized in “Dubai Harbour” in a strategic step to accommodate the unprecedented growth of the exhibition, noting that “Gulfood”, which is the most important platform for food and beverage producers, received more than 134,000 commercial visitors and 5,200 exhibiting companies. Speaking about the best performing sectors for the year 2023, Julphar said that the healthcare, medicine and science sector emerged as the best emerging sector in the Dubai World Trade Centre. He pointed out that the information technology sector came in second place, attracting 260,000 participants, representing 17% of the total conferences and exhibitions, while the “GITEX Global Exhibition” and its subsidiary events dominated this sector, and participation in this event in 2023 increased by 41% on an annual basis.

He pointed out that the food, hotel and catering sector came in third place, attracting 226,000 participants, representing 14% of the total conferences and exhibitions. This sector, led by the “Gulfood” and “Gulfood Manufacturing” exhibitions, witnessed a significant increase in participation in 2023 by 42% on an annual basis.

He said that the performance of the top five sectors complements the consumer goods sector, which attracted 96,000 visitors, and the building, construction and facilities management sector, which witnessed the attendance of 93,000 visitors, noting that the “Chinese Products Exhibition” and the “Big Five Exhibition” are among the most prominent events in their sectors, noting that Automechanika Dubai and Beauty World are considered among the prominent exhibitions and events that appeared in the list of the top ten events in terms of participation.

Regarding the most important incentives and facilities provided by the Dubai World Trade Center to exhibiting companies, Julphar stated that the Dubai World Trade Center owns and operates a group of world-class facilities and services in two main locations: the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre, which is located in the heart of the central business district in Dubai, and the Dubai Exhibition Centre.
