Paris 2024: the Great Dictation of the Games, 3,000 candidates on the Champ-de-Mars

France Télévisions is mobilizing for the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Each month, a show from the Paris 2024 Cultural Olympiad will be a highlight on the air. In all, around fifteen artistic recordings are offered on the air. In this month of April, it will therefore be the Great Dictation of the Games.

A unifying and uninhibited event, because three levels of difficulty will be offered: Brevet level for the first dictation, For All level for the second and Athletes level for the last, concluding this real rise in spelling power.

A single ambition: to bring together an intergenerational community of 3 000 people. Between competition, challenge, camaraderie and celebration of the French language, schoolchildren, middle schoolers, high school students, adults and seniors will become spelling athletes. All in an exceptional setting, with the Eiffel Tower in the background. Many surprises will also be expected with the athletes who will represent France and the new disciplines of the next Olympics.

Around renowned contemporary authors, athletes selected for the Olympic Games, Rachid Santaki, the master of ceremonies, and Augustin Trapenard as host, three dictations from three unpublished texts will respond to the Olympic motto: Citius, Altius, Fortius (faster, higher, stronger): the first dictation on the theme “faster” will be written by Agnès Martin-Lugand, that on the theme “higher” by David Foenkinos and finally, that on the theme “stronger ” by Marc Levy.

For five years, through the show All ready for dictation!, supported by France 3 and regional antennas, France Télévisions is committed to promoting reading, books and French-speaking publishing. This year, it’s on France 5 that this extraordinary literary event, of which Lumni is also a partner, will be broadcast. Grab your pens!
