Health: Providing treatment services to 573 thousand citizens with 500 convoys in 3 months
The Ministry of Health and Population announced the provision of free medical and therapeutic services to 573,814 citizens, through 500 medical convoys, which were implemented from the beginning of January 2024 until the end of last March, to facilitate citizens’ access to medical services in all governorates of the Republic.
Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the official spokesman for the Ministry of Health and Population, explained that 104,559 analyzes were conducted. Laboratory and x-rays, in addition to transferring 4,045 cases to hospitals, to issue decisions at state expense from specialized medical councils, and perform the necessary surgeries.
«Abdul Ghaffar» confirmed The Ministry is keen to continue organizing medical convoys in all governorates of the Republic, in implementation of the directives of the political leadership, to intensify the provision of free medical services to citizens, noting the stationing of medical convoys in 25 areas in places where citizens gather in the governorates during Eid al-Fitr, and publishing them in detail on the official page of the Ministry of Health and Population on the website. For his part, Dr. Muhammad Ghobashi, Director General of the Medical Convoys Department, indicated that these convoys aim to facilitate the elderly, children, and people with special needs. Specialized in receiving medical services, as medical examinations were signed for 31,950 citizens in Aswan Governorate, 30,804 citizens in Assiut, 36,302 citizens in Alexandria Governorate, 15,655 citizens in Ismailia Governorate, 9,320 citizens in Luxor, and 4,626 citizens in Al-Bahr. Al-Ahmar, 28,448 citizens in Beheira, 36,880 citizens in Giza, 21,519 citizens in Dakahlia, 8,123 citizens in Suez, 47,582 citizens in Sharkia, 24,520 citizens in Gharbia, 26,152 citizens in Fayoum, and 22,848 citizens in Cairo.
Ghobashi continued: The health service was also provided to 29,931 citizens in Qalyubia, 26,327 citizens in Menoufia, 33,803 citizens in Minya, 8,757 citizens in New Valley, 34,519 citizens in Beni Suef, 5,021 citizens in South Sinai, and 23,726 citizens in Damietta. 22,934 citizens in Sohag, 439 citizens in North Sinai, 15,115 citizens in Qena, 18,933 citizens in Kafr El-Sheikh, and 9,580 citizens were medically examined in Matrouh.
