Urgent.. Sheikh Ahmed Abdullah Al-Sabah, Prime Minister of Kuwait
The Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Meshaal Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, today, Monday, issued an Emiri order appointing Sheikh Ahmed Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah as Prime Minister, and assigning him to nominate members of the new cabinet.
The text of the Emiri order was as follows: “After reviewing On the Constitution and on the Emiri order issued on 28 Ramadan 1445 AH corresponding to April 7, 2024 AD, accepting the resignation of the Prime Minister… and after traditional consultations, we ordered the following: First… Sheikh Ahmed Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah shall be appointed Prime Minister, and he will be charged with nominating the members of the new cabinet and presenting their names. We have to issue a decree appointing them. Secondly, the Prime Minister must implement our order, inform it of the National Assembly, and it will be effective from the date of its issuance and published in the Official Gazette.
It is noteworthy that Sheikh Ahmed Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah was born on September 5. In 1952, he is a Kuwaiti economist and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Banking and Investments in 1976 from the University of Illinois – USA. Sheikh Ahmed Abdullah Al-Sabah also held the positions of Minister of Oil, Information, Health, Transportation, Planning and State for Administrative and Financial Development Affairs in previous Kuwaiti governments and the position of Head of the Crown Prince’s Court since 20 September 2021.
