Egypt hosts the World Karate League Championship “Premier League” In the indoor hall of Cairo International Stadium during the period from April 19 to 21.
The tournament begins on Friday, April 19, at 9 a.m. Cairo time, with competitions on the first day of the Kumite group tournament, followed by Women’s kata competitions at 3:15 p.m. Then the quarter-finals of kumite begin in the -60 kg men’s, -67 kg men’s, -84 kg men’s, women’s -50 kg, and women’s -61 kg weights, and the semi-finals begin. Kumite with the same scales at 7:50 pm, with today’s competitions ending at 8:30 pm.
On Saturday, April 20, the group league competitions begin at 9:00 am for Mawazine +84 kg for men, -67 kg for men, -55 kg for women, -68 kg for women, +68 kg for women, followed by the men’s kata competition at 3.35 pm, then the kumite quarter-finals for the second day’s weigh-ins begin at 6.30 pm. In the evening, followed by the quarter-finals and semi-finals for the women’s kata at 7:20, and the day concludes with the kumite semi-finals for the second day’s weights at 7:50 pm, with today’s competitions ending at 8:30 pm.

While Sunday, April 21, will witness the bronze medal matches for the kata and kumite competitions at 10 am, and the final matches in the kata and kumite competitions for men and women will begin at 3:30 pm until 8 pm, followed by an awards ceremony for the medalists in the tournament.
About 381 players, male and female, representing 59 countries, participate in the tournament, and 26 male and female players represent Egypt in the tournament.

It is noteworthy that the Egyptian Karate Federation is organizing an international camp in preparation for the championship in Sharm El-Sheikh during the period from 11 Until April 17, with the participation of 5 countries: Turkey, Croatia, Russia, the United States of America, in addition to Egypt, in order to provide the Egyptian national team players with the opportunity to increase their experience by training with different schools in preparation for the Premier League and the rest of the season’s tournaments.
The best 32 players in the international classification for each scale participate in the Premier League tournament, and the tournament awards important points that improve the players’ global rankings, as the first-place player gets 1,200 points, and it is among the qualifying tournaments for the 2025 World Championship in Cairo.
