A detained ship with cargo from Russia was released from the port of Rostock

The ship, which was carrying cargo from Russia and was detained on suspicion of violating sanctions, was allowed to leave the German port of Rostock. About it reports Reuters agency citing the customs department. The department did not provide details.

The cargo ship Atlantic Navigator II, flying the flag of the Marshall Islands, left the port of St. Petersburg on February 7. The final destination country was the USA. When entering the port of Rostock on March 4, the ship was detained German customs. On board, among other cargo, were 251 containers of timber produced in Russia, which is subject to economic sanctions imposed on Russia by the European Union.

In addition, local media reportedthat the cargo also included Russian enriched uranium intended for export to the United States. It is subject to sanctions from both the European Union and the United States.

There is no word on what happened to the cargo.
