CAF Champions League| A goalless draw dominates the result of the first half of the Al-Ahly-Mazembe match

The first half of the match between Al-Ahly and its counterpart FC Mazembe ended in a goalless draw, in a half that witnessed the wasting of dangerous opportunities from both teams, and the brilliance of none other than Mustafa Schubert in protecting the Red Castle’s den.

The Red Giants and Mazembe will meet in the first leg of the semi-final of the African Champions League, at TP Mazembe Stadium.

The Red Devils began their offensive attempts to score the net. From the first moments, the Palestinian Al-Ahly Eagle threatened Wissam Abu against the Congolese team’s goal in the 1st minute after he succeeded in exploiting the error of the opposing team’s defender in handling the ball, so that the ball reached Abu Al-Ali, who missed it in a strange way, sending the ball out of the goal.

Wissam Abu Ali came back again, threatening the goal of the Mazembe team, but with his weak shot, it found its way into the hands of the goalkeeper, who was able to deal with it without any significant danger. In the 8th minute of the first half, the Congolese team began its attempts to reach the Al-Ahly club’s net with a dangerous header aimed at Mustafa Schubert’s goal, but the ball passed safely outside the field.

During the second appearance of the opposing team’s players inside the Red Devils’ penalty area, the home team was almost on the cusp of opening the match’s scoring with a powerful shot that Schubert excelled in blocking to protect his net from conceding the first goals of the match.

The Red Giant players attempted again to score the first goals of the match in order to seize the advantage in the match during the first half, and more than one golden opportunity was available to Al-Ahly’s attackers, the most dangerous of which was Ahmed Abdel Qader’s pass to Reda Selim, who missed it in an unsurprising way, just as Wissam Abu Ali wasted an opportunity. Another to score the first goal for Al-Ahly, which was made by Akram Tawfiq with an unbelievable pass.

The goalless draw continued to dominate the events of the first half, amid the attempts of both teams to change the outcome of the match, and entering the 31st minute. The Mazembe team was able to penetrate the Red Giant’s defenses and reach and threaten Schubert’s goal with a dangerous ball until Ramy Rabieh was able to cut the ball in an amazing way and take it out of the field.

Mazembe players continued to threaten To Schubert’s net, who managed to block a powerful shot that almost went into his own net in the 35th minute of the match, to play one of his best African matches with the Red Giant. The goalkeeper of the Red Castle returned again to save his goal and his team from conceding goals until the last moments of the first half, so the half ended in a goalless draw without scoring for the Congolese team as a result of the lack of success in ending the Red attacks and without Al-Ahly scoring goals thanks to Mustafa Schubert’s goal.

Marcel Kohler, coach of the first football team at Al-Ahly club, started the match with a formation consisting of:

Guards Goalkeeper: Mustafa Schubert.

Defense line: Ali Maaloul, Mohamed Abdel Moneim, Rami Rabia, and Mohamed Hani.

Midfield: Amr Al-Soulia, Akram Tawfiq, Ahmed Nabil Koka, Reda Selim, and Ahmed Abdel Qader.

Offensive line: Wissam Abu Ali.
