The Deputy Secretary-General of NATO begins a visit to the United States to meet with US administration officials

Deputy Secretary-General of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), Mircea Giwana, began a visit to the United States of America, to meet with prominent officials of the American administration. 

A statement issued by NATO stated that Giwana attended a dinner party on the occasion of the twentieth anniversary. Romania’s accession to NATO was held in Washington, D.C., and he is scheduled to speak next Tuesday, before the Special Competitiveness Studies Project, a private, nonpartisan American think tank focusing on technology and security. He will also meet with US Deputy Secretary of State Kurt Campbell and Acting Deputy Under Secretary of Defense for Policy Melissa Dalton.

Giwana is scheduled to head to Boston, Massachusetts, next Wednesday, where he will visit the Mass Challenge headquarters. He is part of NATO’s Defense Innovation Accelerator Program and will also deliver a speech to students and faculty at Harvard’s Kennedy School. On Thursday (April 25), the Deputy Secretary-General will travel to Purdue, Indiana, where he will meet with US Senator Todd Young, and communicate with representatives of the private sector and academia at the Crash Institute for Tech Diplomacy and Purdue University.

The NATO statement stated: Giwanna will head to Chicago State, Illinois, on Friday (April 26); To attend a meeting of the Chicago Council on Global Affairs.
