Parts of Bangladesh are exposed to an intense heat wave

Dhaka, April 21 / WAM / Parts of Bangladesh were exposed to an intense heat wave after maximum temperatures ranged between 40 degrees Celsius and more than 42 degrees Celsius in some areas of the country, according to a bulletin from the Bangladesh Meteorological Department today (Sunday).

The bulletin stated, according to what local media in Bangladesh reported, that a very intense heat wave was sweeping the regions of Pabna, Jashore, Chuadanga, Dhaka, and parts of the Khulna regions and the Rajshahi region.

She pointed out that two people died from heatstroke in the areas of “Chwadanga” and “Pabna” yesterday (Saturday), amid extremely hot weather due to a prevailing wave over the past few days.

Yesterday (Saturday), the authorities in Bangladesh announced the closure of schools and colleges for a period of 7 days, starting today, due to the continuing heat wave sweeping the country.
