Sharjah, April 22 / WAM / Expo Center Sharjah, represented by His Excellency Saif Mohammed Al Midfa, CEO of the Center and member of the Board of Directors of the International Federation of the Exhibition Industry (UFI), participated in the International Federation of the Exhibition Industry (UFI) conference for the Middle East and Africa, which was organized by the Union in the capital. Rwanda Kisgali, with the participation of a number of exhibition industry leaders from the Middle East, Africa and various countries of the world.

Expo Sharjah’s participation in the conference came within the framework of its keenness to shed light on the development achieved by the exhibition industry in Sharjah and the UAE, and the opportunities and platforms it offers to various commercial and industrial sectors, local, regional and international, through which the sector contributes to improving the future of the exhibition and conference industry and enhancing international cooperation. And keep pace with the latest practices and technologies associated with the exhibition industry at the global level.

During his participation in the conference, His Excellency Saif Mohammed Al Midfa reviewed the efforts of the Expo Center Sharjah, which annually attracts more than 2.5 million visitors and thousands of companies and exhibitors from all countries of the world, stressing the center’s constant endeavor to expand the horizons of cooperation with international exhibition centers to build strategic partnerships, exchange experiences and attract more. of exhibitors and the inclusion of new qualitative events and exhibitions in the center’s agenda, to continue its practical role in highlighting the pioneering experience of the Emirate of Sharjah in the exhibition sector.

Al Midfa stressed that Expo Center Sharjah is adopting innovative work mechanisms to develop its services and enhance its leadership position in this sector, and is keen to participate in the annual sessions of the International Federation of the Exhibition Industry (UFI) conference for the Middle East and Africa region and other global events related to the exhibition industry in an effort to increase opportunities for exchanging expertise and experiences. Consolidating best practices and enhancing international cooperation in the exhibitions and conferences sector.

He pointed out that meeting with sector leaders in such events makes it possible to discuss the main trends in the exhibition industry and enhance its role in diversifying the economy and contributing to advancing efforts to achieve sustainable development goals.

He said that the importance of the exhibitions and conferences sector is increasing in the business era because of its role in stimulating the tourism and trade sectors and supporting small and medium-sized companies, in addition to its contribution to the economic growth of countries and strengthening partnership between business communities, pointing to the leading global position that the UAE occupies in the exhibition industry, which is witnessing Continuous development and remarkable growth at the level of the state in general and the Emirate of Sharjah in particular is an indication that the sector still heralds a promising future in light of the continuous support from the state’s leadership and the economic capabilities, available technologies and expertise, and strategic visions that ensure further growth for various sectors, which opens the way for further cooperation. And international partnership.

During its sessions, the conference discussed the importance of enhancing the role of exhibitions in building bridges of communication between exhibitors in vital industrial sectors on the one hand and between exhibitors and decision makers in the region on the other hand, and focusing on increasing the interest of the exhibition sector in events targeting broad social groups to enhance the sector’s role in stimulating economic diversification and creating More attractive opportunities for the development of trade, industry, tourism and services sectors.

It is noteworthy that the World Federation of Exhibitions (UFI) includes in its membership more than 800 organizations, companies and centers for organizing exhibitions and conferences representing 88 countries in the world.

The UFI Middle East and Africa Conference is the most important annual gathering of exhibition industry leaders in the region, and is attended by senior sector leaders, experts, representatives of government agencies, exhibition and conference centers, tourism boards, major institutions and companies specialized in organizing events, in addition to economists, media outlets and industry experts from around the world.
