The court sent former Deputy Minister of Culture of Russia Olga Yarilova to the colony

The Tverskoy Court of Moscow sentenced former Deputy Minister of Culture Olga Yarilova to seven years in prison in the case of illegal allocation of money. According to the verdict, the official illegally included the Ice Cream Museum in Moscow in the Pushkin Card free ticket program for youth.

The “Pushkin Card” is issued to Russians from 14 to 22 years old to attend cultural events at the expense of the federal budget. The government credits money to it, which can be spent on visiting museums, concert halls, theaters and cinemas with Russian films in distribution.

According to investigators, due to the card being included in the program, the ice cream museum in Moscow illegally received 125 million rubles from the budget for tickets. According to the verdict, the museum could not be included in the program. It is alleged that Yarilova knew about this, but did nothing out of a desire to improve her performance for career purposes.

The deputy minister initially admitted guilt of abuse of power, but later retracted her confession. The defense insisted that the excursion met the criteria for the allocation of money and that the children liked it. conveys RIA News”.
