48 hours of rest for Al-Ahly players before facing the Dervishes

Marcel Kohler, technical director of the first football team at Al-Ahly club, gave the players a 48-hour break from training after meeting Mazembe yesterday and qualifying for the CAF Champions League final. The players will resume training next Monday at Mokhtar El Touch Stadium in preparation for facing Ismaily in the league.

 

Al-Ahly will face its Ismaili counterpart at seven in the evening on Wednesday, May 1, at Borg El Arab Stadium in Alexandria, as part of the twentieth round of the Egyptian League competition.

 

Al-Ahly ousted its Congolese rival, Mazembe, after drawing in the first leg at the latter’s stadium, 0-0, and winning the return leg in Cairo, 3-0. Esperance also advanced at the expense of Sun Downs, South Africa, after repeating the back-and-forth victory, 1-0.

 

Al-Ahly’s treasury will recover during next May with a fabulous amount, after successfully qualifying for the African Champions League by defeating Mazembe yesterday, with a clean score scored by Mohamed Abdel Moneim, Wissam Abu Ali, and Akram Tawfiq.

Al-Ahly qualified for the African final after defeating Congolese Mazembe by three clean goals in the return match that was held yesterday evening, Friday. The result of the first leg in Congo ended in a goalless draw for the two teams, while Esperance of Tunisia qualified for the final match after overcoming South Africa’s Sundowns by beating them. The score was 1-0 in the first leg in South Africa, which was the same as the score in the first leg in Tunisia.
