Agricultural crisis: the FNSEA and the Young Farmers believe that a phase of work "end"

Is the agricultural crisis behind us? After the Prime Minister’s latest announcements, the majority unions (the FNSEA and the Young Farmers) promised, Saturday April 27, to be of one “extreme vigilance” to monitor their implementation.

The two unionsnow consider that the phase of work following the mobilizations started last November is ending. The third phase of monitoring the concrete implementation of each of the measures now opens.they write in a joint press release.

Among the measures “complementary” presented by the government are the promised presentation “may’s beginning” of the final version of the Ecophyto pesticide reduction plan, paused during the agricultural crisis, new cash flow aid for farms, the acceleration of 100 water storage or irrigation projects, and a plan to aid to three departments hit by weather crises (Pyrénées-Orientales, Aude, Hérault).

“The crisis is not going to end with the measures that have just been announced”, warned Rural Coordination spokesperson Patrick Legras on franceinfo. He points in particular “the point of progress” what constitutes the new cash flow aid for farms, via the Public Investment Bank (BPI): “This is a point that the Rural Coordination wanted to save certain catastrophic situations. It was requested by the field so it is a strong point accepted.”

According to Matignon, the deputies must examine on Monday the agricultural orientation bill, revised after the crisis. With subjects such as training, hedges or the revision of the scale of penalties in the event of damage to nature, it aims to accelerate the arrival of new generations of farmers, relieved of certain environmental constraints.
