The International Judo Federation congratulates Egypt on the African Championship Cup "Cairo 2024"
The Egyptian Judo Federation, headed by Marzouk Ali, received congratulations from its international counterpart regarding organizing and winning the African Senior Championship Cup, which was held during the period from 24 to 28 April in Hall No. 1 of the indoor hall complex in Cairo Stadium.
In its speech, the International Federation congratulated the Egyptian Federation and the national team for winning the African Championship Cup at the individual and team levels, wishing the Egyptian players success during their participation in the upcoming tournaments.
The International Federation officials praised the good hosting and organization of the African Championship competitions, which were comparable to the organization of world championships, as described by the Director of the International Federation during his presence in Cairo.
For his part, Marzouk directed Ali, thanks to Mr. Marius Weiser, President of the International Judo Federation, and the Federation’s officials for their follow-up of the African Championship competitions that were held in Cairo.
Marzouk said that the completion of the championship in this amazing form and level, It came as a result of fruitful and strong cooperation between the Federation and the Ministry of Youth and Sports, led by Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, and also the United Sports Company, which provided all the capabilities and was keen to overcome all obstacles.
Marzouk explained that Egyptian judo It is developing rapidly, and that Egypt now has distinguished and young players at the level of the first team, men and women, and that controlling the titles of the African continent at all age levels for two consecutive years for the first time is the greatest evidence of the development of the game and all its elements.
The national judo team won the African Championship Cup in Cairo, at the individual level, with 8 medals, 3 gold, 2 silver, and 3 bronze, and also won a gold and the championship cup at the mixed team level.
