Louis Leterrier Set to Direct and Produce Sci-Fi Horror Film ‘11817’

Rocket Science Productions has set Louis Leterrier (“The Incredible Hulk,”) (“Fast X,”) (“The Transporter”) to direct and produce the sci-fi horror film “11817.”

The film is written by Matthew Robinson (“The Invention of Lying,”) (“Good Luck, Have Fun, Don’t Die.”) Leterrier’s production companies Carrousel Studios, Rocket Science, Thank You Studios, Chernin Entertainment and 3 Arts Entertainment are all set to produce.

According to the official logline, “In ‘11817,’ inexplicable forces trap a family of four inside their house indefinitely. As both modern luxuries and life or death essentials begin to run out, the family must learn how to be resourceful to survive and outsmart who — or what — is keeping them trapped…”

“Directing projects where the audience gets behind the characters has always been my focus. However complex, flawed, heroic, we identify with them as we live through their journey,” said Leterrier. “It’s what excites me about 11817’s wholly original concept and the family at the heart of our story. This is an experience that movie audiences won’t forget.”

Producers on the film include Leterrier, Thomas Benski, Omar Sy of Carrousel Studios, Lars Sylvest of Thank You Studios, Kori Adelson of Chernin Entertainment, Oly Obst of 3 Arts Entertainment, Thorsten Schumacher of Rocket Science and Joe Neurauter. Cecile Gaget of Carrousel Studios will executive produce.

Leterrier is repped by CAA, Entertainment 360/LBI, Sloan Offer Weber and Dern and UBBA in France. Robinson is repped by CAA, 3Arts, and Ziffren Brittenham LLP.

Leterrier has made history at the global box office with his films raking in over $2 billion.

Casting is currently taking place and Rocket Science will fully finance the film. It will be introduced at the Cannes Film Festival later this month, where Rocket Science is also selling competition title “The Apprentice.”
