Kuwait’s budget struggles amidst declining oil prices

All of us aspire to achieve and reach certain goals and objectives. The truth is that here in Kuwait we lack such goals, objectives and implementation. We are ashamed of not doing anything to repair the roads and streets everywhere in our country, which were the “talk of the town” in the Arab world. We do not know how long the repairs will take place.

On the other hand, we are good at dissolving and electing a new parliament more than once a year, and over the course of 62 years 45 governments have been formed, which can be translated simply as no government has lasted for a single year. So where do we go from here, from one failure to another without a clear vision or goal to achieve? Today, we hope that any government official will stand up and say: “We will repair our roads and streets next year.” We are looking for just one goal and mission to be delegated and dedicated to people so that they can move forward and implement it.

Despite our unlimited resources in every field and our friendly relations with most countries that are willing to help and assist us in every field, in addition to our young population, education and adequate infrastructure; Our country can only excel if we have a clear and solid road map, supported by a committed government. This is certainly a challenge that we must all face together if it becomes a reality. Certainly, we have goals and plans such as the Silk Road and Kuwait becoming a commercial and financial center.

However, such goals are still somewhere in our minds or nice dreams to entertain ourselves with. Or just to use it as a self-defense mechanism against anyone who accuses us of not having such plans or goals in the short and long term. Or just empty words to complete the annual message of our past and future governments to Parliament and the international media. Ultimately, we desperately need a strong and committed government with a clear vision and goals. Is this a difficult task required by a popular and rich country surrounded by countries ready to help it in almost any field? We have enough minds to reach our desired and desired goals.
