Animation production specialists stress the importance of cross-cultural cooperation
Sharjah, May 5 / WAM / Specialists in the field of animation production discussed the sector’s position in the Middle East region, and the role of cross-cultural cooperation in developing this art and opening future horizons for it.
This came during a session within the activities of the Sharjah Animation Conference, which was organized by the Sharjah Book Authority at the Expo Center Sharjah and concludes today. It included Luca Milano, Director of the Italian Radio and Television Corporation RAI, and Benoit Di Sabatino, Executive Director of Banijay. , Shin Shiro Inoue, production consultant at Kadokawa, a Japanese production company, Kamel Owais, business and content director at Spacetoon, and Olivier Dumont, president of Haspero Entertainment.
Shin Inoue gave a presentation about the Japanese Kadokawa Production Company, in which he reviewed the most famous cartoon characters produced by the company, and said that the company places the issue of partnership and international cooperation among its main agenda to produce targeted content directed to children.
Kamel Owais said that the Spacetoon channel is not only a television platform, but has a strong presence across digital platforms and is trying to integrate and enhance social content in animation, for the purpose of education and entertainment.
He added, “Based on our presence in the UAE, we always seek to cooperate with many local and international companies to ensure continuity of production, and we have already brought in many animated films from the East and West, taking care to modify them to suit the culture of the region.”
Luca Milano pointed out that the official television service in Italy has a long experience of more than 70 years, which constituted a great incentive to strengthen cooperation with production companies from all over the world, especially from the Middle East, with the aim of giving children in Italy meaningful content that brings in diverse cultures and introduces them to… the world.
Olivier Dumont said that cooperation between different cultures in the field of animation production is the key to the main development of this sector, not only in the Middle East region, but in the world as a whole.
Benoit Di Sabatino stressed that the production process is a very long stage and that sustainable work must be done to develop production, marketing and distribution capabilities in various parts of the world through partnerships and cooperation.
