Two earthquakes hit southern Russia in one day
Moscow, May 5 / WAM / Today, within just hours, two earthquakes struck the Republic of Ingushetia, southern Russia.
The regional administration of the Russian Ministry of Emergencies stated in a statement, according to the RIA Novosti news agency, that at 09:29 Moscow time, an earthquake struck the territory of the Sonzhensky region in the Russian Republic of Ingushetia and was at a depth of 12 kilometers and with a magnitude of 2.6 on the Richter scale.
The statement added that at 14:04 Moscow time, a second earthquake measuring 3.6 on the Richter scale struck the Sonzhensky region in the Republic of Ingushetia, at a depth of 9 kilometers.
The statement confirmed that no damage or injuries were recorded, and there were no deaths or material losses, and that all services in the republic are operating normally.
