The King Salman Relief Center and the British Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Development sign an agreement to support those affected by malnutrition in Somalia

The Advisor to the Royal Court and the General Supervisor of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al-Rabiah, and the British Minister of State for Development and African Affairs, Andrew Mitchell, signed a joint cooperation agreement with the United Nations Children’s Fund " UNICEF" To support the multi-sectoral response to severe acute malnutrition in Somalia with a value of US$5 million, at the center’s headquarters in Riyadh today.

 

 The King Salman Relief Center and the Foreign and Commonwealth Office will contribute British development to support UNICEF. In the amount of 2.5 million US dollars each, bringing the contribution of both sides to 5 million dollars.

 

 The agreement aims to provide access to nutrition services, water and personal hygiene supplies in 15 high-risk areas. Across 6 sectors in Somalia, benefiting 101,000 Somali children.

 

 This agreement comes within the framework of joint humanitarian and relief projects between the Kingdom through its humanitarian arm, the King Salman Relief Centre. And the British Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Development to alleviate the suffering of the Somali people.
