Israel prevents the United Nations from entering the Rafah crossing and a Palestinian warns of the catastrophic health situation in the city
On Tuesday, the Israeli occupation authorities prevented the United Nations from accessing the Rafah land crossing in the Gaza Strip, according to a spokesman for the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs.
The spokesman for the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, Jens Laerke, said in A press conference in Geneva: “We are not currently present at the Rafah crossing because the Kogat office (the office coordinating the actions of the Israeli government in the Palestinian territories) refused to allow us to access this area, which is the main crossing point for humanitarian aid.”

For his part, the director of the Kuwait Specialized Hospital in the city of Rafah, south of Gaza, Suhaib Al-Hams, confirmed that the health situation in Rafah Governorate is catastrophic and that the Kuwait Hospital is the only hospital in the center of Rafah, which is crowded with sick and wounded.
Al-Hams said, in a press statement, because the amount of food, beds, equipment and diesel fuel in the hospital is not enough to continue working for a long time… indicating that the hospital receives dozens of martyrs and wounded and that there are difficulties in dealing with them. Due to the lack of medical capabilities and supplies, he explained that the only x-ray machine in the hospital stopped working as a result of the pressure of cases.
Regarding the health situation in the city of Rafah, the director of the Kuwait Specialized Hospital in the city of Rafah, south of Gaza, said: “The Abu Hospital Youssef Al-Najjar, which is the only government hospital in Rafah, is among the areas that the occupation ordered to be evacuated, and that there is no room to evacuate the hospital and there is no place for the wounded or the displaced… calling on the international community and the Arab and Islamic world to intervene urgently and immediately to stop the Israeli aggression against the city of Rafah.
The Israeli occupation continues its aggression on land, sea and air against the Gaza Strip since the seventh of last October, which resulted in the death of 34,789 people and the injury of 78,204 others, while thousands of victims are still under the rubble. He added: Controlling Rafah from the Palestinian side is not a limited thing, but rather a big thing, and controlling the Philadelphia axis is part of the occupation’s plan since the first day of the attack on the Gaza Strip.
He added: “We know that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu does not want this agreement and wanted to push the Hamas movement to reject it. He was betting on the movement’s rejection of the agreement in order to free himself from any possible American pressure.” He stressed that the United States must show its seriousness, as it was able to To stop the Israeli aggression against Gaza without an agreement, but it was supportive of this aggression.
He explained that America needs this agreement because of the student protest marches it is exposed to…noting that today the Democratic Party’s presence in the White House is threatened. Stressing the need for this aggression against the Palestinian people to stop and for Netanyahu to stop his attack on Rafah, because everyone knows the repercussions of this attack if it takes place.
