I went to one of the most exclusive restaurants in Monaco – the way they treated me compared to my boyfriend left me shocked

An Australian tourist has shared her shock given a menu with no prices at a restaurant in Monaco – only for her boyfriend to be given one with costs.
Lili Claire, an Australian living in Paris, travelled to Monaco for a trip with her boyfriend.
The pair decided to dine out at Le Grill, which is located inside the prestigious Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo.
But the 25-year-old was shocked when she opened her menu and there were no prices on any of the dishes.
However, her boyfriend opened his menu and saw how much each dish cost printed along the side, with Lili alleging that Le Grill, which holds one Michelin star, gave out different menus based on gender.
Some dishes were priced at eye-watering amounts, such as 320 euros (£271) for caviar and 80 euros (£67) for ricotta pasta.
She filmed the bizarre experience and wrote: ‘Just found out that fancy restaurants in France give out different menus to men and women. Menus with no prices for women and menus with prices for men.’
The original clip, which was uploaded last year to Instagram, got more than 22million views and 1.4million likes.

It racked up thousands of comments, with one person writing: ‘I’d be so stressed because I’d want to pick the cheaper stuff if I know my man is paying for me.’
Another penned: ‘Feminism is about choice and I choose to be a princess.’
A third said: ‘Isn’t this reinforcing stereotypes that the man is the person with the money? How are women not against this type of micro-profiling?’
A fourth commented: ‘I’d walk out. I’m not ordering something without knowing how much I’m paying for it.’
Lili said captioned her clip: ‘Low-key not mad about.’
Lili did not reveal the restaurant’s name in the original clip, but after many comments from people curious to see what eatery it was, she made an updated video last month.
The content creator said: ‘Finally exposing the name of the restaurant from the viral video which gives menu with prices to men and menus with no prices to women.
She said: ‘The restaurant is The Grill Monaco and it is Michelin-starred. Many high-end restaurants around the world do this.
‘Yes I’m aware it’s in Monaco which is a separate country to France but the culture there is very much French.’

Femail understands that usually the menu with the prices on it is given to the person who made the booking at higher-end restaurants.
The cheapest starter on the menu at Le Grill is the smoked Scottish salmon with cream cheese and pickles for a whopping 65 euros (£55).
Le Grill’s grilled sea bass with fondant fennel, golden artichokes, small capers and basil costs 110 euros each (£93).
And if you opt to have a side dish of mashed potatoes, fries or grilled vegetables, they will each cost you 18 euros (£15)
A bowl of farmer’s vegetables, pesto and small spelt will also set you back 60 euros (£50).
The fancy eatery also has a strict dress code, stating that they will not allow those wearing shorts for gentlemen, ripped jeans, sports outfits, caps, flip flops, or showing excessive displays of skin inside.
Instead, they recommend freshly pressed linen suits, ‘solid colour’ jeans, smart leather jackets and sneakers – however, these must be in ‘good repair’.
