Drunk ex-NFL star Kelvin Joseph Jr arrested and charged over fatal collision with motorcyclist
Former Dallas Cowboys star Kelvin Joseph Jr has been arrested and charged after being found intoxicated by police following a fatal collision with a motorcyclist.
A 27-year-old woman riding a motorcycle has died after being struck on US Highway 75 – which runs from Dallas, Texas northward to the Canadian border near Noyes, Minnesota – just before 5am Saturday.
According to CBS News Texas, officers said no other vehicles or people were located at the crash scene when they first arrived.
The motorcyclist, identified as Plano resident Cody Morris, was reportedly pronounced dead at the scene.
At around 5:39am, ex-Cowboys cornerback Joseph then called police to inform them that he’d been involved in the fatal crash. Officers are said to have observed signs of intoxication after speaking with him.
The 25-year-old, who was driving a BMW at the time, was arrested and charged with DWI and collision involving personal injury or death. His bond information is currently unknown.

Joseph began his pro career in football with the Cowboys after being selected with the 44th overall pick in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft.
After two seasons in Dallas, where he registered 36 tackles in 26 appearances, the former Kentucky and LSU college player spent brief time with the Miami Dolphins, Seattle Seahawks, Kansas City Chiefs, Indianapolis Colts and Minnesota Vikings.
Two months after being released by the Vikings, Joseph moved over to the second-tier United Football League and signed with DC Defenders, where he is still under contract.
