Overlooked £30m Tottenham star FINALLY earns reprieve after twice being axed from Champions League squad – as Thomas Frank makes three changes ahead of the knockouts

Mathys Tel finally has some good news in the Champions League as he, Conor Gallagher and Radu Dragusin have been added to Tottenham’s UEFA squad for the rest of the competition.
Thomas Frank has maximised his three possible changes ahead of the knock-out phase with injured duo Rodrigo Bentancur and Ben Davies omitted, along with the space created by Brennan Johnson’s move to Crystal Palace.
There is no place for Yves Bissouma or new signing Souza. Nor for Dejan Kulusevski and James Maddison who have missed the entire season this far with serious knee injuries. Tel has suffered this season at the hands of Frank’s selections in the Champions League.
He was omitted from the original squad at the start of the season, then recalled for one game to cover a long term injury for Dominic Solanke and then dropped again as Solanke was recalled.
Spurs return to the competition in March where they will play in the last 16 against one of Juventus, Atletico Madrid, Club Bruges or Galatasaray.
Gallagher was signed from Atletico in January and Dragusin was left out at the start of the season as he completed his recovery from a long-term knee injury.
