Trump has spent a majority of his days back in the White House bashing the nation’s election integrity

President Donald Trump has questioned the credibility of U.S. elections on 440 separate days of his second term, according to a new report by The New York Times.

That is more than 70 percent of the days since he returned to office in January 2025.

One of his most repeated claims is that the 2020 election was fraudulent and that Joe Biden was not the duly elected president. The claim has no basis in evidence. Recounts, court proceedings and investigations — including by Trump allies — have found no widespread fraud that changed the outcome.

Trump wasted no time in calling U.S. elections into question upon his return to office. At a luncheon after his inauguration, he called the 2020 race “rigged,” a claim he had repeated many times before. The comments kept coming.

“I have had more people ask me to have a third term, which in a way is a fourth term because the other election, the 2020 election was totally rigged,” Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One in March 2025.

He has also used unjustified claims to push for policies he wants adopted. These include the SAVE America Act, which would require new voters to provide proof of citizenship, and restrictions on mail-in voting.

“We cannot, as a country, put up with this any longer,” Trump wrote on Truth Social in May. “Voter I.D. and proof of citizenship must be approved, now. Crooked mail-in voting must be stopped.”

At times, Trump has also accused Democrats of cheating in state-level races, including California’s gubernatorial primary in June.

“The Dumocrats are at it again! They are trying to STEAL THE GOVERNOR OF CALIFORNIA PRIMARY, AND THE MAYOR OF LOS ANGELES, PRIMARY, AWAY FROM TWO GREAT REPUBLICAN CANDIDATES,” the president wrote on Truth Social on June 4.

His accusation, which came before the final results were tallied, was not accompanied by any evidence.

With the November midterms less than a month away, the 80-year-old president is now alleging that Democrats intend to rig those contests as well.

“Vote by mail or vote in person on Election Day, November 3rd, so we can defeat the radical left Dumocrats in a midterm victory that is too big to rig,” Trump said in a video released this month.

Democrats have spent years condemning the president’s comments about U.S. elections, accusing him of undermining faith in the democratic system and laying the groundwork to dispute any result that does not favor him.

When reached by the Times, a White House spokesperson said “the evidence of voter fraud continues to pile up,” and that Democrats’ opposition to the SAVE America Act is “keeping Americans from having full confidence in their elections.”
