Streets locked down in Parramatta, Sydney as police launch major operation

Police swarmed a street in western Sydney as they investigated reports of a suspicious object.
Officers were called to an apartment building on Parkes Street in Parramatta on Friday at 11.20am after being contacted by a member of the public, a NSW Police spokesperson told the Daily Mail.
Police could be seen wearing vests outside the building as they secured the scene.
Residents were photographed walking down the street, away from where the operation was taking place.
It is understood Hassall Street has also been shut by officials.
