Girl, 16, is fighting for her life in coma after being hit by car while riding her bike to get ice cream during family visit to Poland
A Rotherham schoolgirl is in a coma after being hit by a car while riding her bicycle, a family friend has said.
Zuzanna Bohojlo, 16, was going to get ice cream when she was hit in Jozefow, a town in Warsaw, Poland, on Sunday.
She was on a trip to see her mother Karolina and was placed in an induced coma after the crash.
Family friend Olivia Znajewska said in a Facebook post that the girl’s mother had asked for anyone who knew Zuzanna to message her phone and keep her in their prayers.
Ms Znajewska said: ‘We are all still in shock – it’s an innocent holiday that’s turned into a tragedy.
‘Her mum says they went on a bike ride to get some ice cream when she was hit by a car.
‘Doctors have put her in a coma. We’re all just waiting now.
‘Karolina has asked anyone who knows Zuzanna to text her daughter’s phone, message her, take a moment to keep her in your thoughts or say a prayer – it would mean so much to her. It could make all the difference or bring some comfort.’

Her sister described the 16-year-old as loud, outgoing and bubbly in a Facebook post which appealed for friends and family to send supportive messages
Zuzanna’s sister Aleksandra said she was ‘loud, outgoing, bubbly, kind, full of life and always brings her own energy into a room’.
Aleksandra said: ‘Our beautiful Zuzanna Bohojlo is currently in a coma, and our family is holding onto hope and praying with all our hearts for her recovery.
‘Anyone who knows Zuzanna knows that she is impossible to forget. She’s loud, outgoing, bubbly, kind, full of life, and always brings her own energy into a room.
‘She has a huge heart, but she’s also one of the strongest people you could ever meet. Zuzanna knows how to stand up for herself, and right now we need that strength more than ever.
‘We’re asking everyone who knows and loves her – and even those who may simply see this post – to leave Zuzanna a message. Talk to her. Tell her you love her. Share a funny memory, tell her a story, remind her of something you’ve done together, or simply tell her that you’re waiting for her to come back to us.
‘We will read your messages to her, and we want her surrounded by as much love, hope and positivity as possible.’
