Brydon Carse left OUT of England squad for third Test against Pakistan following nightclub arrest
England have dropped Brydon Carse from their third Test squad to face Pakistan at Edgbaston.
Carse, 31, was removed from second Test consideration after being de-arrested following an incident at a Derby night club on 22 August.
The Durham fast bowler remains under investigation by Derbyshire police, who say they are looking into allegations of assault, and is not featuring in his county’s current Championship fixture versus fellow Division Two promotion chasers Northamptonshire.
Surrey seamer Matthew Fisher has also been omitted for the match at Edgbaston starting next Wednesday, with Sonny Baker retained in a 15-strong group after being named as Carse’s replacement in the 194-run win over the Pakistanis at Lord’s.
That match saw Ollie Robinson bag eight wickets, moving to 99 in his career, and to fifth place in the Test bowling rankings.
Carse, who was part of England’s squad for the first two Tests against Pakistan and their leading wicket-taker during the Ashes defeat in Australia, was released without charge, having been out celebrating with Durham team-mates following their win over Derbyshire in the county championship.

A short video posted on social media showed Carse, 31, surrounded by four policemen outside the club, with fellow Durham stars Ben Stokes and Matthew Potts in the background. One of the policemen is heard to say: ‘Just get him over there.’
The news came not long after England’s new Test captain, Joe Root, abolished the team curfew that had been in place since the Ashes defeat in January, insisting his players should be trusted to behave like ‘grown adults’.
