Tammy Hembrow Spills On Being Carried Out Of Kylie Jenner’s 21st B-Day Party: ‘A Dark Place’
Aussie influencer and Shark! reality TV star Tammy Hembrow has opened up about that headline-sparking incident in which she was carried out of Kylie Jenner‘s 21st birthday party.
It was 2018. Drake‘s “In My Feelings” was blasting at every gatho. Beyoncé raised entertainment icon standards with her historic Beychella sets, and the KarJenners were undoubtedly the IT family on social media.
However, it was in 2018 when Hembrow made headlines. Alongside being a beautiful, blonde Aussie baddie with an amazing presence, she also caught the attention of tabloids after she was “rushed to the hospital” after Kylie Jenner’s 21st birthday.
In shocking photos, which can be seen here, Hembrow, who was 24 at the time, was papped being wheeled out of WeHo’s Delilah — the hotspot where the shindig was kicking off — face down on a stretcher.
Eight years later, Tammy has finally revealed “the truth about Kylie Jenner’s birthday” to Happy Hour hosts Lucy Jackson and Nikki Westcott at their Party Girl Tour in Adelaide.
Tammy Hembrow addresses viral Kylie Jenner birthday incident
In a video reshared by the Outspoken podcast, Tammy was asked head-on about “what really happened at Kylie Jenner’s birthday”.
“I feel like it’s a bit of a like… Actually, I’ll take a shot,” Hembrow said, hesitating to answer the question, adding, “I don’t want to say.”
“I don’t wanna get messy,” Hembrow continued.
“I just feel like to me, LA is a bit of a dark place. There’s some dark people, hence why I haven’t been back there for a hot minute,” she added before taking a shot.
Lucy then asked if she thought she was roofied or drugged, to which Tammy shook her head and took the shot.
“Do you know what’s so funny, though? After that happened, Lucy and I literally said —we’re like, this is off because [Tammy] can fucking party,” Nikki said before Lucy described Hembrow as a “brick wall” when it came to partying.
In a YouTube video — that appears to have been scrubbed from her channel — Hembrow claimed she collapsed due to a lack of sleep.
“So, firstly I just want to let everyone know that I’m OK,” she said in the now-privatised video, which was shared weeks after the incident happened.
“Basically, what happened was, I was in LA I was running off pretty much 30 hours with no sleep. I was struggling to stay awake even when I was getting my hair and makeup done.”
“I was literally sitting there, like, falling asleep. Like, I could barely keep my eyes open. I’ve been throwing myself into work way more than ever, and also, I have my kids the majority of the time. [It’s] literally been like a non-stop, on-the-go kind of thing.”
She also claimed the collapse happened due to her recent breakup with her ex-fiancé Reece Hawkins and her emotional state at the time.
“I think because of the breakup I’ve been trying to keep myself busy and not really taking time to think about how I’m actually feeling or focusing on myself,” she continued.
“I probably, definitely shouldn’t have been drinking because of how jet-lagged I was, because of how exhausted I was, and I already wasn’t feeling well at all. I was honestly fine at that point, and I was talking to a bunch of my friends; I was catching up with some people. So, yeah, I pretty much collapsed.”
Hembrow became close with the KarJenner clan after she modelled for Khloé Kardashian‘s Good American campaign. But one week after the incident, the KarJenners unfollowed the influencer on Instagram.
