Over the past week, our friends in the US dropped a bunch of fresh TV shows and movie announcements we can expect to see on our screens from 2026 to 2027.
Yes, it’s the time of the year when the big dogs of entertainment — Netflix, Disney, NBCUniversal and Warner Bros. — host their annual upfronts where they showcase all of the new projects punters can expect!
So, with so many happening at the same time, we’ve extracted all of the information you want to know about your favourite shows from Bridgerton to Star Wars and even American Horror Story.
Shall we get into it?
Table of Contents
Netflix
Streaming giant Netflix came out with the big guns, revealing when fans can feast their eyes on Bridgerton season five, a new teen romance drama from the minds of Kim Kardashian and Emma Roberts, and a third Grown Ups movie.
Bridgerton season five to drop in 2027
If you’re craving more Regency-era horniness from the mind of Shonda Rhimes, you’re in luck. Instead of waiting for the usual two years, Bridgerton season five will be released next year.
In April, Netflix confirmed that season five will explore the blossoming romance of Francesca Bridgerton (Hannah Dodd) and Michaela Stirling (Masali Baduza).
Kim Kardashian’s new teen romance drama
And because we couldn’t get enough romance, Netflix also announced a new teen romance series titled Calabasas.
According to Variety, the project, spearheaded by Bridgerton creator Chris Van Dusen and executive producers Kim Kardashian and Emma Roberts, was acquired by the streaming giant in 2024 following a bidding war.
Calabasas is based on Via Bleidner‘s book If You Lived Here You’d Be Famous Now, which has been described as “an insider’s collection of funny and warmhearted stories about coming of age in the Los Angeles suburb famed for birthing the Kardashian-Jenners and the Bling Ring“.
Alongside Calabasas, Netflix also announced Calabasas Confidential, a reality TV show that follows the lives of West Coast nepo babies and influencers, including Preston Pippen, Raine Michaels, Hercy Miller, and Suede Brooks.
Florence Pugh in East of Eden
In one of its biggest announcements, Netflix released the trailer date of Zoe Kazan‘s adaptation of John Steinbeck‘s East of Eden.
Per Deadline, Kazan’s East of Eden is a “modern interpretation” of Steinbeck’s book, focusing on its antihero Cathy Ames (potrayed by Pugh). Alongside Pugh, the series will star Tracy Letts, Martha Plimpton, Ciarán Hinds, Joseph Zada, Joe Anders, Christopher Abbott, Mike Faist and Hoon Lee.
The seven-episode show will drop later this year.
Adam Sandler to drop Grown Ups 3
Forget a Hot Girl Summer, the girlies are fanging for a Grown Ups summer!!!
At its upfronts, the streaming giant confirmed a third instalment to the family-friendly, light-hearted flick. The plot and cast are still under wraps. However, it’s rumoured that Adam Sandler, Chris Rock, David Spade, Kevin James and even Rob Schneider — who was not in the second film — will be returning for the threequel.
It’s bound to be amazeing.
Warner Bros.
At Madison Square Garden, Warner Bros. Discovery dropped a bunch of bombshells, including insight into The Big Bang Theory‘s spin-off, Minecraft Movie 2 and the Harry Potter series.
The Big Bang Theory‘s spin-off gets a teaser and premiere date
Stuart Fails To Save The Universe, the highly anticipated spin-off to the sitcom juggernaut that was The Big Bang Theory, is slated to debut July 23 (US time).
Alongside its premiere date, the show got its first teaser. The logline reads: “Comic book store owner Stuart Bloom is tasked with restoring reality after he breaks a device built by Sheldon and Leonard, accidentally bringing about a multiverse Armageddon. Stuart is aided in this quest by his girlfriend Denise, geologist friend Bert, and quantum physicist/all-around pain in the ass Barry Kripke. Along the way, they meet alternate-universe versions of characters we’ve come to know and love from The Big Bang Theory. As the title implies, things don’t go well.”
The series will see Kevin Sussman return as Stuart, alongside Lauren Lapkus as Denise, Brian Posehn as Bert and John Ross Bowie as Kripke.
A Minecraft Movie 2
While we didn’t get a first look at the actual film, Variety reported that attendees were given a peek at a behind-the-scenes look into the filming of A Minecraft Movie 2, which is taking place in New Zealand.
However, shortly after upfronts took place, Kirsten Dunst confirmed that she’d been cast as Alex, alongside Jack Black‘s Steve in an IG Post of their chairs.
“It has begun…” the Hollywood star captioned her pic.
Fingers crossed, we get more of the Jennifer Coolidge and Villager’s love story.
First look at The White Lotus season four
Despite the hullabaloo surrounding The White Lotus season four — with Helena Bonham Carter quitting production due to an alleged on-set spat with showrunner Mike White — Warner Bros’ upfronts shared first-look images at the highly anticipated fourth season.
The Harry Potter series
Not too much was said about the upcoming, controversial Harry Potter series. However, executives shared their excitement for the project.

90 Day Fiancé fan con
In big news for 90 Day Universe nerds (and especially me), TLC will be making a fan con for folks who are obsessed with 90 Day Fiancé, and its multiple spin-offs, which include 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way, 90 Day Fiancé: Hunt For Love, 90 Day Fiancé: Last Resort, 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After, and so much more.

All I want to know is if Anfisa will be there, with her red bag and MAKEUP.
NBCUniversal
Rolling over to Radio City Music Hall, reality TV lovers copped a bunch of tea on their favourite shows, including all the goss surrounding Summer House, which has been rocked by a messy love triangle and an audio leak. Let’s take a peep!
First look at Crystal Lake
In a win for horror fans (me, again), NBCUniversal and Peacock handed us a first look at the prequel series to the Friday the 13th films, Crystal Lake, starring icon Linda Cardellini as antagonist Pamela Voorhees.
Variety reported that the show will give the ghouls (see what I did there?) a look at Jason Voorhees’ life before he inevitably ‘died’ at Camp Crystal Lake, which then led to him killing a bunch of teens in multiple films, including one that takes place in outer space.
I wonder if Kelly Rowland would ever return to the franchise… IYKYK.
Love Island USA
Love Island USA‘s host Ariana Madix graced Radio City Music Hall to remind folks to clock into the villa ‘cos Love Island USA will be returning next month with more drama, and hopefully less contestants making hurtful comments.
The Fast & Furious franchise lives on
Alongside all the reality TV tea, Peacock confirmed it will be developing a TV series set in the Fast and Furious franchise. The plot surrounding the series is currently unknown. However, Vin Diesel promised the show will “honour the legacy” of the OG films, Variety reported.
Reality TV shows to return
In a surprising announcement, Bravo confirmed that a bunch of our fave shows will be returning for another season. Be prepared to feast your eyes on new seasons of Summer House, The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, Below Deck Down Under, The Real Housewives of Rhode Island, Married to Medicine, Southern Charm, The Valley: Persian Style, Wife Swap: The Real Housewives Edition, and Top Chef.
Prior to the upfronts The Real Housewives of Potomac, Below Deck, Below Deck Mediterranean, were also to be confirmed to be returning with The Real Housewives of New Jersey also copping a new season with Dolores Catania, Teresa Giudice and Melissa Gorga.
Bravo also brought out beloved OG RHONY star Carole Radziwill who is “set to be a friend-of” in the upcoming season of The Real Housewives of New York City.
Shows slated to premeire in 2026 for Bravo include season one of In The City, season two of Next Gen NYC, season three of The McBee Dynasty: Real America Cowboys, season 11 of Below Deck Mediterranean, season 20 of The Real Housewives of Orange County, and The Real Housewives Ultimates Girls Trip: Roaring 20th.
Disney
Bringing the magic, the whimsy, and ~the coven~, Disney revealed all of its new roster of new shows and new seasons that’ll have you glued to the couch for yonks!
American Horror Story first look
Starting off with the biggie, FX dropped its first look into the upcoming American Horror Story season alongside its stars Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Emma Roberts, Angela Bassett, Gabourey Sidibe and Billie Lourd.
Can we take a moment to appreciate the mother that is Bassett as Marie Leveau?
The plot remains underwraps. However, Variety reported that FX’s logline for the highly anticipated 13th season reads: “Which iconic horrors will return to haunt the hallowed halls of 13 and what new terrors await? Light your candles, draw your pentagrams and prepare for a supreme surprise”.
Alongside this iconic reunion, Love Story‘s Paul Anthony Kelly announced he will be joining that cast of American Horror Story on stage with the OG stars.
A first look of The Shards
Alongside American Horror Story, Disney upfronts also presented a first look at Ryan Murphy‘s adaptation of the Bret Easton Ellis‘ book The Shards.
The fictional novel is from the horror genre that centers around a serial killer in the 1980’s with some details tapping into Ellis’ childhood. In other words, totally on brand for something Murphy would make a series out of. The series is set to star Kaia Gerber, Igby Rigney and Homer Gere.
Ashoka premiere date confirmed
In a galaxy far, far away… Sorry, I mean right here, Ashoka‘s Rosario Dawson alongside her droid confirmed that season two of the beloved Star Wars spin-off will be premiering in early 2027. With a rough date in mind, that means it will be four years since the first season dropped.
But hey, we’ve got the Mandalorian and Grogu plus Star Wars: Maul — Shadow Lord to keep fans at bay.

First look at Cout My Lies
This year’s Disney upfronts also featured a first look into Hulu’s adaptation of Count My Lies, which is based on Sophie Stava‘s book of the same name.
It’s worth noting how star studded the cast is as it features Kit Harington, Lindsay Lohan and Shailene Woodley, who all were at the event to present the first look!
Marvel’s VisionQuest premiere date confirmed
Marvel fans got a real treat with Robert Downey Jr., Tom Hiddleston and Paul Bettany confirming that VisionQuest — the final instalment of the WandaVision trilogy — will arrive on Disney+ October 14, 2026.

With this gigantic list, it looks like we’ll be all glued to our couches for the next couple of months — years, even. It’s like we’re on that cruise from Wall-E, but I ain’t complaining. Especially if it means another round of American Horror Story: Coven.
