‘All the players are talking about it’: Thomas Tuchel admits Man City guilty verdict is a ‘big subject’ in the England camp – as club launch appeal

Thomas Tuchel has admitted the furore surrounding Manchester City is a ‘big subject’ in the England camp – with all the players talking about it.
England are in Rijeka preparing for tomorrow’s Nations League clash with Croatia, a week after news first emerged that City had been found guilty of the vast majority of charges of financial impropriety brought against them by the Premier League.
‘We had some time off between the matches and it is a big subject,’ said Tuchel. ‘Everyone speaks about it, so there is no other voice needed. I am glad to be not that voice. No one needs my half knowledge on the topic.
‘Of course, the players talk about it. City players talk about it. We talk with them but only briefly. They are ready to go tomorrow. But of course, it’s a big topic in the camp.’
Elliot Anderson and Marc Guehi are the two City representatives in this England squad, with Nico O’Reilly having withdrawn this week and has returned to the club for an assessment on an injury.
The left-back played the full game for manager Thomas Tuchel’s side in the 3-2 defeat by Spain but missed Tuesday’s 2-0 win against the Czech Republic, with Newcastle’s Lewis Hall stepping in.
