Ariana Grande & Ethan Slater Secretly Broke Up Months Ago After Almost 3 Years Of Dating

Ariana Grande and Ethan Slater secretly broke up several months ago and have ended their controversial romance after almost three years, according to sources.
An insider told Us Weekly this morning that the pair, who met on the set of Wicked in 2023, have called it quits on friendly terms.
“It’s amicable, they gave lots of time and careful consideration and decided to go their separate ways,” a source told the outlet. “They are still friends and very supportive of one another. They have been quietly broken up for several months.”
The insider added that Grande is “doing great” and is “focused” on work, with her Eternal Sunshine tour kicking off with its first show in California over the weekend.
Grande and Slater played Glinda and Boq in both the Wicked movies, but the start of their relationship was marred in controversy given that Slater had only recently ended his marriage to ex-wife Lily Jane.
Meanwhile, Grande finalised her divorce with ex-husband Dalton Gomez in 2024.
Slater, also known for playing SpongeBob on Broadway, kept his relationship with Grande largely out of the public eye, but did say in October 2024 that their dynamic was “a really beautiful thing”.
For her part, Grande said the same year that the scrutiny on their romance “doesn’t get any easier” and that she would “never go into details” about the relationship.

The pair were dogged by break up rumours in recent months, with sources and subtle social media moves from both parties putting the kibosh on widespread speculation about a split.
In a personal essay at the height of the scrutiny around their divorce, Lily Jay wrote that the “days when I can’t escape the promotion of a movie associated with the saddest days of my life are darker”.
Alongside her ongoing tour, Grande is starring in Focker-In-Law, the upcoming entry into the Meet The Parents franchise set for release in November.
