Big Brother star reveals doctor’s chilling warning that sparked 29kg weight loss as he unveils his incredible transformation

Big Brother star Johnson Ashak has unveiled his dramatic body transformation after a doctor warned him that he could die if he did not lose weight.

The 29-year-old, who shot to fame on the Channel Seven reboot of the reality show, admitted he was left ‘f***ing disturbed’ by how much his weight and lifestyle were impacting his mental health before deciding to turn his life around.

Speaking exclusively to Daily Mail, Johnson revealed his wake-up call came during a routine check-up when his GP warned that his cholesterol and cortisol levels were dangerously high.

‘The doctor told me that at 27 or 28, if I didn’t lose weight, he was going to put me on tablets and I was likely to die of heart disease,’ Johnson said.

‘For me, I did it to save my life.’

At his heaviest, Johnson tipped the scales at 108.7kg after years of poor eating habits working in construction – grabbing bacon and egg rolls for breakfast, fast food lunches with colleagues, and heavy dinners at night.

‘I just ate and ate,’ he explained.

‘The construction industry makes it so easy to fall into that rhythm – and I became really unhappy and depressed.’

It wasn’t until he reached out to his close friend and personal trainer, Coach Lenny, that Johnson finally found a plan that worked.

‘He told me that my diets never catered for my lifestyle. I like to go out on weekends, have cheat meals – so instead of cutting everything, we changed my mindset and made it a lifestyle,’ he said.

Johnson began waking up at 4.30am every day, hitting the gym at 5am before heading to work.

His gruelling regime involved running up to 8km twice a week, swimming a kilometre, HIIT training and regular strength workouts.

He also overhauled his diet – swapping processed carbs for protein-heavy meals and reserving carbs only after workouts.

The results were staggering. In just nine to twelve months, Johnson dropped almost 29kg, slimming down from nearly 109kg to 80.7kg at his leanest.

But beyond the physical change, the transformation has had a powerful impact on his mental health.

‘Being physically unhealthy contributed a lot to my mental health,’ he admitted.

‘Fixing my physical health helped me look at life more positively. At the end of the day, you are what you eat. If you’re eating s***, you feel like s***.’

Now focused on building lean muscle, Johnson says the hardest part of the journey has been resisting food temptations at social events – but he’s learned to adapt.

‘Instead of ordering a chicken parmy, I’ll get a steak with salad and veg. It’s about replacing, not completely restricting,’ he said.

The Big Brother star, who regularly shares his progress online, hopes his story inspires others to take control of their own health.

‘If I can lose 29 kilos in a year and change my life, then anyone can,’ he said. ‘My advice? Shut your lips and move your hips.’
