Bill Gates nervously chuckled as he denied ever going to his friend Jeffrey Epstein’s infamous island, despite his strong ties to the dead pedophile.
The tech billionaire talked about Epstein and other topics, including his thoughts on artificial intelligence, during an NBC Meet the Press interview that aired on Sunday.
Gates, the co-founder of Microsoft, appeared frazzled and nervously laughed when discussing his relationship with the disgraced financier.
‘I really appreciated the chance to go in front of Congress and make it clear, uh, you know, to go through every meeting I have with him- which is about 10 meetings over a couple-year period,’ he told journalist Kristen Welker.
In June, he attended a closed-door deposition before the House Oversight Committee regarding his connection to Epstein.
Gates continued to stumble over his words at times, telling Welker: ‘I never, there were never any women in those meetings, there’s nothing financially, I never went to the island or anything like that.
‘So if people are curious about that, I, I encourage them to read. You know, I, I was there to answer any question that people had.’
The island that he mentioned refers to a private and isolated spot that Epstein owned in the Caribbean that was also known as ‘pedophile island.’

Epstein, who was found hanging inside his federal jail cell in 2019, had ties to many prominent figures, including Gates.

After Epstein died, Gates repeatedly apologized for their friendship and told Congress during his appearance that he wished they had never met.
But before that meeting, news had already broken that Gates allegedly slept with Russian girls, contracted a sexually transmitted disease, and then planned to slip antibiotics to his then-wife, Melinda French Gates.
The astonishing claims, which were released on January 30, were part of emails that Epstein wrote and sent to himself on July 18, 2013.
After the shocking alleged revelations became public, Gates held a private town hall meeting with employees of the Gates Foundation, one of the world’s largest private philanthropic organizations that Melinda resigned from as co-chair in 2024.
During the closed-door gathering, which was internally referred to as ‘BG Unplugged,’ the Microsoft executive confessed to two affairs he had with the Russian women mentioned in Epstein’s correspondence, The Wall Street Journal previously reported.

‘I was told by Jeffrey after I met him that he could help raise billions of dollars for global health – you know, he wouldn’t be paid, he would have no role.
‘That proved to be a complete dead end. So my spending time with him, like many other people, kind of helped his reputation. You know, that’s very regrettable,’ he said.
French Gates has also spoken out about her ex-husband’s ties to Epstein, and shared a chilling encounter she had with the pedophile.
In a candid interview with The Guardian in June, the billionaire philanthropist opened up about her painful divorce from Gates, her horror after meeting Epstein and her determination to use her vast fortune to transform women’s healthcare.
While discussing Epstein, the 61-year-old became visibly emotional when asked what about him disturbed her so deeply when she met him.
‘My heart is racing,’ she said, before asking a striking question of her own.
