Boston Red Sox fire manager Alex Cora and four coaches after their shocking start to the MLB season

The Boston Red Sox have fired their longtime manager Alex Cora after the team’s horrific start to the new MLB season.

The ruthless Red Sox have also parted ways with hitting coach Peter Fatse, bench coach Ramon Vazquez, game-planning coach Jason Varitek and third-base coach Kyle Hudson.

It comes just hours after the Red Sox beat the Baltimore Orioles 17-1 on Saturday but their record for the season stands at 10-17.

Cora, who has had two spells as Red Sox manager and has been in place since 2021, led the team to a World Series title in 2018.

Varitek is also a franchise legend, having won two World Series as the team’s catcher and captain in the early 2000s.

More to follow.
