Deputy Al-Azhar: The participation of contestants from all countries of the world is a testimony to Egypt’s Qur’anic status

In his speech, the Undersecretary of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif conveyed the greetings of His Eminence the Grand Imam and his sincere prayers that this competition would be a reason for spreading Qur’anic light and goodness among all of humanity, expressing his happiness with the participation of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif in this prestigious Qur’anic forum, and praising the efforts of the Ministry of Endowments in organizing this edition, which is under the generous patronage of His Excellency Mr. President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi – President of the Republic, who takes great care of Especially to serve the Holy Qur’an, sponsor its campaign, and support the cultural message it carries.
He stressed that the gathering of the nation within the confines of the Qur’an is a gathering for the light that never fades, and the guidance whose wonders never end, pointing out that holding this global competition in Egypt, the country of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, reflects the role of the Egyptian state in serving the Book of God, caring for its memorizers, and taking care of everything related to its teaching, improvement, and understanding. And its objectives.
He explained that the continuation of the competition in its successive sessions confirms Egypt’s possession of a solid vision that combines the authenticity of heritage with the data of progress, and works to prepare a generation capable of carrying the message of the Qur’an to the world, combining precision of mastery, nobility of morals, and sublimity of values, so that Egypt truly remains the “State of the Qur’an.” And “the state of recitation”, the home of the manifestations of revelation, and the country in which God spoke to our master Moses, peace be upon him.
In his speech, he referred to the role of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif in spreading the sciences of the Qur’an and its recitation through its institutes, universities and bodies, and its supervision of more than eleven thousand books across the governorates of the Republic, in addition to online memorization, stressing that Al-Azhar is undertaking a project "Civilizational Book" Who builds a balanced and conscious personality that combines memorizing the Qur’an and understanding its purposes.
His Eminence also reviewed Al-Azhar’s contribution to renewing the Egyptian recitation school, by presenting thirty reciters from its students to launch the Al-Azhar student Qur’an broadcast on radio and channels, to be a link between the generation of giants and a new generation that continues to carry the message with a firm voice and perfect performance.
He praised The Undersecretary of Al-Azhar, with the wide participation from various countries of the world in this edition, considers it a sure testimony to Egypt’s Qur’anic and scientific standing, and to what this competition represents as a platform that unites hearts on a common word, in which young people compete in the fields of goodness, stressing that the Holy Qur’an is an integrated civilizational project that rearranges the relationship between man and his Lord, himself, his society, and the universe, and establishes an urban system based on human dignity, justice, equality, science, reflection, work, and mastery, explaining that many contemporary human values find their roots. In conclusion, the Undersecretary of Al-Azhar called for invoking the purposes of the Holy Qur’an in building awareness, policy-making, educational curricula, media discourse, and the formation of a balanced human personality, stressing that memorizing the Qur’an, understanding it, and acting upon it is the basis of renaissance and the way to create generations capable of carrying the message of Islam in the world, asking God Almighty to make this competition a new door of attachment to the Qur’an. And a path to the unity and guidance of the nation.
