Detectives investigating whether teenage girl, 16, died from sex act after paramedics were called to a Northern Beaches home in Sydney

Early investigations into a teenage girl’s death indicate she died during a consensual sex act.
Emergency services were called to a home in Elanora Heights, on Sydney’s Northern Beaches, about 5.45pm on Sunday following reports a girl was having a seizure.
The 16-year-old was found unresponsive at the scene and was airlifted to Royal North Shore Hospital in a critical condition.
NSW Police confirmed her death on Tuesday evening.
A young male, known to the girl, was cooperating with police.
It’s believed the girl was choked during sex and lost consciousness.
‘Officers attached to Northern Beaches Police Area Command commenced an investigation into the incident. Inquiries are ongoing,’ police said in a statement.
