Disney World slammed after guest notices ride prop being held together with DUCT TAPE
Disney World has come under fierce fire after a guest noticed that one of its ride props was being held together with duct tape.
X user @CoasterK24 took to the platform earlier this week to share their outrage after they saw that a decoration on the line for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure was covered in adhesive tape.
They shared a snap of a fake car in the queue area for the boat ride, which had a slew of large and very noticeable pieces of tape along the edges.
The attraction is inspired by the movie The Princess and the Frog, and the queue is designed to completely immerse guests in the universe.
As they wait for the ride, they are transported into old-school Louisiana, where they get a walk through the headquarters for Tiana’s new business, Tiana’s Foods.
The X user claimed the use of duct tape completely ruined the ambiance, pointing out that The Princess and the Frog takes place in the 1920s, before duct tape was even invented.
‘Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is literally being held together with duct tape, which mind you was not invented during the time period this ride takes place in,’ they raged.
The post sparked immense fury for the theme park, as many others agreed that it was not fitting.

‘Walt [Disney] would have a freaking conniption if he saw this,’ one user replied.
‘I wish Disney cared more about this [ride]. Hopefully it’s a temporary fix,’ another wrote.
‘Oh my God, no way. This is so embarrassing,’ someone else penned.
‘My God, Disney, fix [Tiana’s Bayou Adventure]. This is embarrassing for a top tier theme park,’ agreed a different fan.
The Daily Mail has reached out to Disney World for comment.
The ride, which replaced the attraction Splash Mountain and opened in June 2024, is described as ‘an exhilarating musical adventure.’
‘Embark on a thrilling water ride through the bayou with Princess Tiana, Mama Odie and gator pal Louis,’ reads a description.
‘It’s a musical journey full of twists, turns and festive fun that crescendos with a 50-foot drop – as well as a swingin’ soiree.’

Last month, the ride sparked safety concerns after a 13-year-old boy climbed out of one of the log flumes mid-ride at Disneyland in Anaheim, California, and plummeted down the 50-foot drop.
Video footage published by TMZ appeared to show the boy falling down the track behind the ride vehicle full of other people.
Thankfully, the boy did not suffer any critical injuries and was transferred to a hospital as a ‘precaution.’ He was evaluated and released.
California Division of Occupational Safety and Health, better known as Cal/OSHA, inspected the attraction afterwards and approved it to open the following day.
The log flume does not have seatbelts or lap bars and, after news of the scary event broke, many social media users raised questions about the lack of restraints.
‘I’m surprised they haven’t installed lap bars/seatbelts to prevent such a thing from happening in the first place,’ wrote one distraught user. ‘Almost every other ride has a safety restraint in place.’
‘When I loaded my four-year-old into the Tiana ride boat, I was panicked when it occurred to me that the boat didn’t have restraints,’ admitted another.
‘It has always surprised me that lap bars have never been installed on this ride; especially, since it’s a single-file ride and kids can’t clutch their parents,’ someone else added.
‘An incident like this and reopening the next day like nothing happened just doesn’t seem right to me,’ read a fourth post.
A fifth said: ‘Truly insane that someone could fall down the drop, remain alive, and the ride reopens the next day without investigation.’

‘Rapids rides have [seatbelts], so why not flumes?’ questioned a different user.
Not having seatbelts is common on log flumes and is the case with many similar rides at theme parks across the globe.
It’s believed that the design of log flumes makes it nearly impossible to fall out, making seatbelts often not deemed necessary. However, climbing out on your own is certainly possible, as was the case with the recent Disneyland incident.
‘Log flumes can never have any particularly high lateral or negative G-forces on the corners, otherwise all the water would fall out,’ explained one Reddit user.
‘Any G-forces are likely to be pushing you back or down further into the seat.’
In addition, some have pointed out that seatbelts could make the ride more dangerous because if the vehicle were to somehow flip, the riders would be trapped and could potentially drown.
