Energy executive, 48, vanishes while paddleboarding off Florida beach as coast guard launch desperate search

An energy executive has vanished off the coast of Florida.
Matt Pawlowski, 48, was last seen paddleboarding near Jupiter Beach at around 9am on Monday.
The US Coast Guard shared an alert after he disappeared saying that his yellow and lime green paddleboard had been found.
‘A good Samaritan located a paddleboard matching the description used by the missing paddleboarder approximately 10 miles offshore Jupiter Island,’ a statement read.
‘The paddleboard was returned to the local police department.’
The team has deployed air and surface crews around areas close to Pawlowski’s last-known position.
Pawlowski was last seen wearing a white hat, orange shirt and gray shorts, the Coast Guard said.
Pawlowski’s panicked family reported him missing after he didn’t return home from his paddleboarding trip.

Crews searched through the night on Monday and will continue the person-in-the-water search.
Authorities have not shared if Pawlowski had any emergency communications gear on board.
Emily Glotz, a frequent paddleboarder, told WPTV, ‘It’s really rough out there, especially because of the pier and a lot of boats are in that area.’
She added: ‘You can never predict the weather either so I like to stay local and close to shore.’
A quick search on LinkedIn reveals that Pawlowski is the Vice President – Head of Execution at NextEra Energy Transmission.
Anyone with information about Pawlowski is asked to contact Coast Guard Sector Miami.
