England cricketer Brydon Carse handcuffed after nightclub incident – with former captain Ben Stokes spotted watching on
Cricketer Brydon Carse has become the latest England star to become entangled in a drinking incident after being led away from a nightclub by police in handcuffs.
Footage of Carse, 31, surrounded by police officers outside of a club in Derby has been circulating on social media.
In the clip, the bowler – who was England’s leading wicket taker in the Ashes last winter – can be seen in cuffs with Durham team-mates Ben Stokes and Matthew Potts in the background of the clip.
Carse is in England’s squad for their second test against Pakistan, and was ultimately not arrested following the incident. The Telegraph has reported that he returned back to the team hotel.
It is yet to be known the reason for Carse being put in handcuffs, but a spokesperson for the England and Wales Cricket Board has released a statement.
They said: ‘We are aware of an incident which is reported to have taken place in Derby last night, and are currently investigating. We will provide a further update when possible.

The incident is believed to have come after Durham’s mammoth victory over Derbyshire in the County Championship, in which Carse picked up two wickets.
