Former WWE star Dawn Marie who joined OnlyFans at 55 now earns more than she ever did as a wrestler

A former WWE star who joined OnlyFans at 55 says she’s already making more money on the site than she ever did in professional wrestling.

Dawn Marie, who shot to fame in ECW in the late ’90s before making the jump to WWE in the 2000s, launched her OnlyFans account earlier this month to a rapturous reception from old school wrestling fans.

The mom-of-two left the wrestling business in 2005 to become a dementia care nurse and now says that she’s making more money from nursing and OnlyFans than she ever did as a WWE superstar.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, Marie said that one of the motivating factors in her decision to do OnlyFans was an ongoing serious neck injury that she’s been battling for years, which left her concerned about her ability to continue working full time.

‘You’re getting older, your neck’s not holding up. I’m in a lot of pain all of the time with my neck, so I thought that maybe I should prepare for my future,’ she explained.

‘There’s nothing wrong with having a little extra. I’m a single mom, I have two kids and college is around the corner, so why not?’

She also said that the reception she’s received since joining OnlyFans has been ‘wonderful’, with hundreds of subscribers spending $12.95 per month to connect with the wrestling legend.

‘I’ll hear a thousand times, “I had the biggest crush on you when I was 12”, or “You were on my wall when I was 16.” You know? Those are the men and women joining my OnlyFans that I’m able to communicate with now,’ she said.

Marie isn’t doing sexually explicit content on her page and says she won’t cross that line in the future, no matter how much money she could potentially make, but she did tease that her subscribers can still enjoy sexy content from her.

‘I was a stripper in the ’80s when it wasn’t cool, so the sex business isn’t new to me and I have an idea of what I’m headed into,’ she explained.

‘Do I have some dimples in my ass? Absolutely. Do I look like I did back then? No, who the hell does! And I’m not claiming to. But I’m proud of who I am and I’m proud that I kept my body strong,’ she continued.

‘I was hardcore in ECW and I’ll continue to be hardcore after,’ she added with a smirk.

The Women’s Wrestling Hall of Famer also insisted that she’s not concerned about any of the cruel comments she’s received online for doing OnlyFans at 55.

‘I don’t see a negative about it, as much as people want to make it negative, what’s so negative about it?’ she said.

‘I’m not bothered by it even in the slightest. You know why? Because it shows interest,’ she continued.

‘If there’s one thing I learned from Paul Heyman in ECW, it’s that there’s no such thing as bad press – I’ll take lemons and make a smoothie out of it.’

She added, ‘My children are not against it. The people that matter to me, how they think and they feel, that’s what matters.’

Marie also insisted that despite what some of her critics may say, she’s not struggling financially and didn’t join OnlyFans out of desperation.

‘People say, “She’s broke, the poor girl, she must be hard up.” Trust me, I’m not,’ she laughed, explaining that she recently sold one of her homes and has always been good with money.

She also said that her nursing career has been lucrative, adding that she currently works in upper management and is responsible for running entire dementia units.

‘I’m a nurse by trade and I’ve been a nurse for ten years… And I’m gonna be arrogant, I’m an amazing nurse. I’m educated, I’m well-versed and I have a lot of experience. If something’s going wrong in your room, you want me there,’ she said.

Marie said that she hopes to continue nursing part time, not out of financial necessity, but because it’s her passion.

But despite enjoying her day job, the star says that she’s also loved connecting with her subscribers on OnlyFans and is grateful that it’s allowed her more free time to spend at home with her family.

Longtime WWE fans will best remember Marie for her steamy rivalry with blonde bombshell Torrie Wilson on Smackdown.

The pair feuded for months after Marie married Wilson’s real-life father Al in a scripted storyline that had viewers riveted.

The New Jersey nurse exited the WWE for good in 2005 after getting pregnant and sued the company for wrongful termination that year. The lawsuit was settled out of court in 2007.

Before joining WWE, Marie worked in ECW, where she was best known for managing Lance Storm and feuding with longtime foe Francine.

Wilson is also now selling exclusive content too, although she uses the PG-rated app Passes instead of the racier OnlyFans.

‘I’ve had people come up to me and say, “You’d make so much money on OnlyFans!” But I don’t wanna do anything nude and I feel like people expect [OnlyFans] to go there,’ she previously told the Daily Mail.

‘I love that Passes is a cleaner platform so people aren’t gonna come on there expecting [nudity],’ she added.

Other wrestling stars now on OnlyFans include Matt Riddle, Amanda ‘Mandy Rose’ Saccomanno, and Elayna Black, formerly known as Cora Jade.
