Gold Coast influencer claims she was kicked out of Burleigh Pavilion over ‘extremely revealing outfit’ after staff served her drink

A Gold Coast-based influencer says she was kicked out of Burleigh Pavilion over her outfit after security allowed her into the venue and bar staff had already poured her drink.

Adult content creator Emily Webb filmed herself with a friend moments after the incident, turning the camera on her plunging baby pink halter top and pleated denim micro skirt to show her followers what she had worn to the beachside bar.

‘And we’d just paid for a drink, and they wouldn’t let us drink our drink. And they gave us a refund for our drink. That’s how serious it was,’ she said.

Emily said she asked to stay long enough to finish what she’d ordered, only to be told she had to go.

‘Mind you, they had already made the drink. The drink was ready.’

In the footage, captioned ‘Banned from the Burleigh Pav’, Emily angled her phone down to reveal the halter’s scooped neckline, which plunged almost to the waistband of her tiny blue skirt.

The skirt featured wide pleats and a high split on one side. She teamed it with a cream shoulder bag, a delicate gold pendant and a stack of rings, wearing her blonde hair loose with winged eyeliner and glossy pink lips.

What left Emily baffled, she said, was that security had seen exactly what she was wearing when she arrived and still allowed her inside.

Emily’s followers were split over the outfit, with one questioning why staff asked her to leave after security had let her through the door.

‘The fact that security let you in should’ve been enough. I’m actually really confused as to why you guys would get kicked out of there. Also that’s how people dress all the time it’s not unusual to see those outfits at bars. You both look great!’ the follower wrote.

Others had little sympathy. ‘What did u expect wearing that?’ one asked.

‘You’re wearing practically nothing. Dress codes are a thing,’ another wrote in a comment that drew more than 100 likes.

Burleigh Pavilion describes itself as a family-friendly venue and asks patrons to dress ‘smart casual’.

Its website says staff can be more flexible during the day and at quieter times, but apply the dress code more strictly at night or when the venue is busy.

Should bars have the right to decide what women can and can’t wear on a night out?

Singlets, thongs, ripped or dirty clothes, hard-capped shoes, team sports gear and fancy dress are all on the venue’s banned list.

The published rules give management discretion to refuse entry, although they do not specify a minimum skirt length or how low a neckline may be.

Burleigh Pavilion has faced scrutiny over its entry standards before.

In May 2024, Australian Survivor contestant Jaden Laing filmed himself trying to enter the venue in a turtleneck covering his neck tattoos.

He said he was turned away, prompting two men to test the policy the following day by drawing on temporary neck tattoos. Both walked in.
