J&K: Police carries out raids in Baramulla District

Srinagar: J&K Police carried out raids at multiple locations in Baramulla district of north Kashmir on Thursday in connection with a case registered under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA). Four mobile phones and a laptop were seized for forensic examination to aid the probe.

The police spokesman said raids were carried out as part of the probe into a case registered under Section 13 (unlawful activities) of UAPA and Section 351(3) (aggravated threats) of BNS at the Baramulla police station.

Officials said the searches were carried out at the residences of Faraz Ashraf Gojri, Waseem Ali Kar, Tanveer Ahmad Mir, and Waseem Hussain Mir. The searches were conducted in the presence of executive magistrates and independent witnesses.

Army Chief Visits forward areas

Army chief General Dhiraj Seth visited the forward areas of Poonch district and reviewed the security situation. This was his first visit to the forward areas in Poonch after assuming office and comes amid heightened security measures in the wake of the Amarnath Yatra. The Army chief visited the Nagrota-based White Knight Corps headquarters, where he was briefed by senior commanders on the security situation in the Jammu region.
