Kim Kardashian Clears Up Confusion After Grandma Dies Aged 91

The Kardashian-Jenner crew have flooded social media with touching tributes to the family’s matriarch, Mary Jo ‘MJ’ Shannon, following her death at age 91.
Kris Jenner took to Instagram on Thursday evening (local time) to share the sad news that her mother had passed away, writing that “there are no words that could ever capture what she has meant to me or the heartbreak of having to say goodbye”.
Kris said that her mother taught her “everything that truly matters” in life: “To love your family fiercely, to be kind, to show up for the people you love, and to never take a single moment together for granted.”
“Mum, thank you for every sacrifice you made, every piece of wisdom you shared, and every moment you loved us so completely. I will miss our daily talks, your smile, your laughter,” she shared.
The momager went on to say that although she is heartbroken, she finds comfort knowing that her love lives on in her family.
“When I look at my kids and my grandkids, I will forever see pieces of you in all of us. There is not a part of me that isn’t shaped by you. And if I have done anything right in this world, it’s because I spent my life trying to live in a way that would make you proud,” she added.
Kim Kardashian’s tribute to her grandma
Shortly after Kris broke the news of MJ’s passing, Kim Kardashian posted a gallery of snaps with MJ on Instagram and described her as her “best friend”, “gossip buddy” and “forever twin”.
“You were the woman who showed me what it meant to be a hardworking businesswoman,” she wrote alongside the carousel of childhood snaps, recent family photos and a text message from MJ.
“You gave me my very first job at your store in San Diego and taught me lessons about work ethic, strength, and confidence that I’ve carried with me ever since. You always believed in me, championed me, and were my safe place.”
Kim added that she loves MJ “soooooo much” and will miss her “forever and ever”, although she knows that she’s at peace now.
“Give Papa Harry, Aunt Karen, and my dad a hug for me,” she penned. “I know you are up in heaven, looking at all of our Instagram posts of you from your sneaky finsta account you would always use lol.”

Khloe Kardashian has since posted a tribute to her grandmother on her Instagram Story, resharing a clip from Keeping Up With The Kardashians in 2016 where Kris tearfully told MJ that her biggest fear is “losing someone”.
Kylie also reposted a video on her IG Story of herself as a child dancing with MJ on their family’s reality show, which she made regular appearances on.
Kim clears up confusion surrounding recent post
An hour before posting her tribute to MJ, Kim shared an Instagram carousel captioned “lake life” featuring photos from a recent family getaway with Khloe and their children.
While fans were confused about the “insensitive” timing of the gallery, Kim took to the comments shortly after to clarify that it was a pre-scheduled post.
“This post was scheduled a few days ago before we lost MJ, so its timing came right alongside her passing,” she wrote.
“I’ve been by my mum and grandma’s side this past week, and my heart is completely with my family right now. We love and miss her so deeply, and in the days ahead, we’ll be focusing on celebrating her beautiful life.”
Kim’s boyfriend, F1 driver Lewis Hamilton, also shared a post around the same time featuring loved-up snaps from the weekend away alongside the caption “hold your people close”.
