Lauren Boebert slams Trump’s ‘endless wars’ in blistering takedown and cries election fraud as she teeters on being ousted from Congress

The Colorado Republican, one of the most recognizable faces of Trump’s political movement, is on track to lose her re-election fight to Democratic challenger Eileen Laubacher in the state’s 4th Congressional District.
The Associated Press has Boebert behind Laubacher with greater than 95 percent of the vote in three days after the election.
In a local interview on Friday, Boebert said that her takeaway on overwhelming GOP losses is: ‘You don’t start endless wars.’
‘That’s a big one. I mean, I’ve been frustrated about the Iran war. There was nothing i could do individually to stop what was happening there,’ she went on.
‘I’ve always said you should govern as you campaign. You cannot be one person on the campaign trail and another person in office. The American people want you to do what you said you were going to do.’
Her campaign said that it was investigating ‘unusual voter patterns,’ and vowed to fight for every ballot.
Boebert’s anticipated defeat is particularly notable given that she had won the district by 11.6 percentage points in 2024.
The seat had been rated as leaning Republican by the Cook Political Report, making the Democratic challenge one to watch on election night.

Boebert’s defeat marks a dramatic turnaround for a politician who once appeared virtually inseparable from the Republican Party’s populist movement
Boebert was never far from controversy during her time in Congress
During the campaign, Laubacher, a retired Navy rear admiral, criticized Boebert after she voted against war powers resolutions intended to restrict military action in Iran.
Boebert’s downfall marks a dramatic turnaround for a politician who once appeared virtually inseparable from the Republican Party’s populist movement.
Her time in Congress was repeatedly overshadowed by controversy, including the infamous 2023 incident at a Denver theater, where she was escorted out of a performance of Beetlejuice after being accused of vaping and engaging in inappropriate sexual behavior.
She later apologized for her conduct.

The congresswoman also faced scrutiny over her campaign finances, her bitter divorce from Jayson Boebert and her decision to abandon Colorado’s Third Congressional District to run in the more Republican-friendly Fourth District in 2024.
Another controversy that dogged Boebert during the campaign erupted in September, when she was hit with a sworn complaint to the House Ethics Committee accusing her of having sexual relationships with three current and former congressional staffers.
The explosive filing, submitted by activist David Wheeler, alleged that Boebert had an affair with a former senior aide and arranged a $200,000 payment to keep her quiet after the relationship allegedly ended.
It also accused her of inappropriate relationships with two other members of her congressional team.
The allegations raised questions about whether Boebert had violated House ethics rules governing relationships between lawmakers and staff members, as well as the use of campaign and congressional funds.
Boebert furiously denied the claims, branding them politically motivated and ‘utterly false.’ The former aide named in the complaint also rejected the allegations, calling them defamatory.
The House Ethics Committee had not announced an investigation.
But the district Boebert was competing in was far from the only battleground drawing attention.

In the state’s 8th Congressional District, Manny Rutinel flipped the seat to Democrat after defeating incumbent Republican Gabe Evans.
Republican Congressman Jeff Crank also faced a serious challenge from Democrat Jessica Killin in Colorado’s 5th District, while Republican Jeff Hurd was defending his seat against Democrat Dwayne Romero in the 3rd District.
After a brutal night for Republicans, Democrats took overall control of the House and could win at least 258 seats. Democrats also took control of the Senate after flipping several seats throughout the country.
