MAC Cosmetics finally brings back its iconic Y2K frosted lipsticks

Things are cooling down this October, and it’s not just the weather. MAC is bringing the frost back, too. The beauty giant has revived its cult-classic Frost Lipstick collection, introducing a new line-up of pearlescent shades. Once a staple of 90s make-up bags, the frosted lip is making a comeback with 10 brand new shades as well as the return of three nostalgic classics: the metallic brown of Chintz, the jet-black sheen of Jet and the blue-brown of Spanish Fly. While some are a winner for Halloween nights out, there’s plenty here for everyday wear, too.
Fronting the new launch is make-up artist Erin Parsons, who for the last few years has been courageously campaigning to bring back favourite Y2K and 90s shades, and who is a longtime champion of the frosted finish in particular. We also have her to thank for helping to bring back eight iconic discontinued shades including Fleshpot and Bubbles, and the OG shade of 90s staple lip pencil Spice. Thank you, Erin.
In other MAC news, the brand has also introduced its Kajal Excess Longwear Smoky Eyeliner, as seen on pop royalty Rhea Raj, just as party season approaches. Elsewhere in beauty, Lily Allen has teamed up with Lovehoney for a collection of sex toys, D.S. & Durga is getting Gothic for Christmas, and Rituals has launched a beauty range for dogs. From the weird to the wonderful, here’s everything else that caught our eye this October.

Prada is putting a sweeter spin on its signature Paradoxe fragrance with the arrival of Sweet Chemistry. The latest addition to the collection takes a fruitier approach, opening with a blackcurrant syrup accord before giving way to delicate orange blossom and a creamy neroli milk accord.

Le Labo has a new addition to its candle collection, just in time for the colder months. Inspired by the ancient use of papyrus to preserve stories and memories, PAPYRUS 20 combines earthy cypriol with floral ylang-ylang, warm labdanum and musk for a rich, grounding scent. Whether you’re settling in for a night at home or looking to make your space feel a little more inviting, this one’s worth lighting.

In an age of endless screen time, Perfumer H is making a case for the lost art of putting pen to paper. Its new limited-edition collection, Ink on Paper, takes inspiration from the smell of ink, paper and the ritual of writing, with an eau de parfum, candle and incense.

For those who prefer their holidays a little darker, D.S. & Durga has unveiled Gothic Holiday, its new festive collection. Drawing on Gothic literature, ancient winter rituals and celestial symbolism, the collection includes the Gothic Gourmands discovery set and candles such as Amber Antiquity and Winter Solstice Pines, all wrapped up in equally moody packaging.

Sitre’s New Heights is a sculptural, genderless vibrator designed for exploration, whether that’s solo or with a partner. Inspired by nature, its asymmetric design offers a range of sensations, while a real smoky quartz crystal at its centre brings some spirituality to pleasure.
An unexpected parcel arrived in the Dazed office this month. Fresh off the release of West End Girl, Lily Allen is turning her attention to self-pleasure. Teaming up with Lovehoney, the singer has curated Love Lily, a six-piece collection of sex toys, each personally tested while on tour. From the Womanizer Enhance to a pale blue polka-dot butt plug and a 24-day pleasure advent calendar, there’s something for everyone.
Just in time for Halloween, e.l.f. is getting witchy with its new campaign, The e.l.f.ing Magical Sisters. Bringing together three modern-day witches, the campaign puts a magical spin on the brand’s Soft Glam Cream Blush and Bronzer Sticks. Infused with shea butter and sunflower seed oil, the creamy formulas promise a buildable, sculpted glow with a soft satin finish.
UKLASH’s sister brand gróa has introduced a new gift set bringing together its Lash Serum and Brow Serum. Part of the brand’s Christmas collection, the duo is designed to support fuller-looking lashes and brows, making it one to pick up whether you’re gifting it to someone else or keeping both for yourself. We won’t judge!

Inspired by the extravagant banquets of ancient Rome, Parisian perfume house L’Entropiste is taking indulgence to new heights with its latest fragrance, Festin. The scent brings together an unlikely mix of blackberry, truffle, caviar, leather and oud, drawing on the excess of Emperor Nero’s infamous feasts.

Parfums de Marly’s latest fragrance, Dorval, is one to reach for as the colder months set in. Opening with fresh bergamot and pink pepper, the scent gives way to warm notes of cinnamon, cardamom and clary sage, before settling into a woody base of guaiacwood, tonka bean and vanilla. All the best ingredients of a winter latte, bottled.

We know it’s practically illegal to talk about Christmas before Halloween has passed, but Lush’s latest Grinch collaboration is not one to miss. Taking inspiration from everyone’s favourite green Christmas grouch, the collection features a brand-new sour apple fragrance.

If the colder weather has you craving a little downtime, The Retreat at The Londoner offers a welcome escape from the bustle. Tucked away beneath the hotel, the stylish city spa offers a range of treatments, including its Signature Full Body Massage, recently tried and tested (and loved) by Dazed’s own video editor.
A wildcard mention, but Rituals has expanded into pet care with a new collection dedicated to our four-legged friends. The range includes a chamomile-enriched dog shampoo, a soothing paw balm and even an alcohol-free dog perfume, with notes of musk, sweet almond and orris. Who said dogs can’t have a 12-step routine, too?
